Job Description:

What You'll Do

The Industry Relations team is the organization trusted to fulfill leadership positions in Industry Bodies and direct the participation of subject matter experts across Discover Global Network. As part of the Innovation and Emerging Products organization, its remit includes current payment products as well as emerging technologies. Represent Discover in global industry organizations and be responsible for the analysis of industry developments to help develop recommendations and positions that are aligned with DGN's product roadmap.


Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.


How You'll Do It

  • Represent Discover within industry bodies related to payments and related emerging technologies. Industry Bodies may include technical specification groups as well as trade bodies and membership organizations.
  • Conduct research and analysis of industry developments to identify implications and opportunities. Support the analysis of complex issues to help define a balanced external position.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts in assessment of industry developments. Support the execution of an Internal Engagement Strategy ensuring industry developments are effectively communicated across internal teams, including; Product, Legal, Government Relations and regional teams.
  • As a member of the industry relations team provide input on how industry body participation is adjusted to meet the organizations need.


Qualifications You'll Need

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates Business Administration and Management
  • Payment Product Management or related experience

In Lieu of Education Experience

  • Payment Product Management or related experience


Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelors Information Technology or Engineering
  • Industry participation in payments standards and specifications in such areas as; Open Banking, e-commerce, authentication OR IoT
