Setting the course
I came to Discover because they were using modern application development to set their strategic direction. This vision for the organization has taken the team forward in new ways and continuously creates exciting opportunities.

Advancing the team
I lead the Enterprise Payment Platform team. That includes the user interface, disputes and data. So far during my time at Discover, I’ve advanced our automation and development at scale as well as modernised the payment services.

Support from the highest levels
I first joined Discover as a Senior Manager. I received continuous support and encouragement from my manager and vice president to be bold and ambitious with my plans. That support has continued since becoming a director and I’ve take on more responsibilities, ownership and accountability.

Unifying engineering
Since coming on board, I’ve focused on evolving our team structure. I brought previously separated groups like development and test together. Through creating unified team cultures and ownership models, we’ve grown the employee base and modernised the team’s responsibilities.

Every time I attend a demo or presentation on the team’s progress, I am absolutely astounded by the engagement and evolution of the teams. I’m astounded both by what they’re delivering, but more importantly, how they’re delivering.

Speaking candidly
Even though Discover is a huge company, there’s a very personal feeling. Everyone speaks candidly and makes an effort to get to know their colleagues. As a company, we’re very respectful of work-life balance (especially during COVID-19).

Striking the right balance
Once of the incredible benefits of working here has been the opportunity to make connections with those overseas. Though we work virtually, I know that when we eventually meet again in person, the environment will be relaxed and strike the right balance between professional and personal.

My authentic self
Outside the office, I love the mountains, cricket and spending time with my children.
