TITLE: Senior Modeler
DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Senior Modeler in Phoenix, AZ to be responsible for development of predictive models to provide modelling solutions to Loss Forecasting. Design and develop models utilizing machine learning and other algorithms. Research and leverage state of the art modelling techniques and participate in modelling innovation. Leverage extensive, deep technical knowledge and leadership skills to drive the development of data science solutions and implement data-driven recommendations and outcomes. Use quantitative analytical skills and tools for data preparation, including sampling, data pulling, aggregation, and other data preparation treatments. Perform simulations and general ad-hoc analyses to provide insights for model/framework development. Assist in model implementation; support model maintenance and tracking. Assist in internal and external audits and/or regulatory exams. Communicate and present project results to business partners and management. Maintain an in-depth understanding of all the card loss/CECL components and changes. Evaluate external data and be an expert in internal database and systems. Maintain a high level of competency in statistical and analytical principles, tools and techniques and support the advancement of the best-in-class analytical capabilities to support Loss Forecasting functions. Accumulates business and data domain knowledge. Promote a risk-aware culture and ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Engineering or a related quantitative field and two (2) years of experience in job offered or related position: preparing data treatment sampling, data pulling, and aggregation; performing simulations and general ad-hoc analyses to provide insights for model/framework development; assisting in model implementation; supporting model maintenance and tracking; assisting in internal and external audits and/or regulatory exams; communicating and presenting project results to business partners and management; monitoring card loss/CECL components and changes; evaluating external and internal database and systems; performing statistical analysis to support Loss Forecasting functions; utilizing analytical tools including SQL, SAS, R, Python, Teradata and Microsoft Office. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Ph.D in one of the above listed fields and one (1) year of experience in the above listed skills.
