TITLE: Principal Data Science
DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Principal Data Science in Riverwoods, IL to work closely with management to execute analytical initiatives. Provide thoughtful leadership and strategic thinking to solve business problems by leveraging techniques such as segmentation, optimization, advanced analytics and machine learning. Closely monitor performance metrics and KPIs to ensure goals are met and course correct as necessary. Operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiment, analysis methodology, modeling, application and financial impact analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables and presentations. Facilitate implementation of work product and ensure accuracy. Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics including customer segmentation, optimization, prescriptive analytics and machine learning algorithms and recommend solving business problems. Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommend to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information. Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboard to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs. Consistently follows standard work processes and documentation requirements. Recommend improvement to work processes to increase efficiency while maintaining quality of work. Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Sciences or related and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or related: performing financial analyses utilizing statistical concepts; performing data analyses and reporting; performing financial modeling; and utilizing technologies including SQL or SAS, Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters and Excel. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience in the above listed skills.
