Meet Danny

Scrum Master, Business Technology

How does your work impact Discover overall? As the team’s Scrum Master, I help the team perform at their highest level by eliminating distractions so our engineers can focus on the high priority deliverables. We’re currently rolling out a new iteration of our event handling platform that makes it easy for applications to publish and subscribe to real-time events. I work with the team, product owner and stakeholders to create a roadmap of deliverables. Internally, I also coach the team on agile best practices to keep everything running smoothly. See Jobs

Come develop your skills I would encourage anyone who’s interested to apply for a job at Discover as soon as possible. Working here has really helped me develop myself in all aspects and I believe anyone who joins Discover with the same mindset will experience the same. See Jobs
Meet Molly
US

Technical Product Owner, Business Technology

How does your team manage change? If you’ve ever worked in technology on a long-term project, you know it’s almost impossible to predict all of the changes that might happen—requirements change, priorities change, people change, even technology can change. Agile, specifically Scaled Agile, helps all team members to be more comfortable with change. We’re continually improving how to break our work into smaller pieces that can be more easily worked on and completed. We’re able to adjust more quickly instead of waiting until the end. We’re able to learn and receive business value more quickly, which ultimately is Agile’s biggest advantage. See Jobs
Meet Gunwantha
UK

Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

What’s a typical day for you at the office? Each day is broken into three major components — issues, development and meetings/emails. Every day we go over feature requests, product issues, etc., and assign them out to those who are best suited to fix or develop them. Then, usually in the early afternoon, I will try to get all my meetings and emails taken care of as well as complete any necessary online training. Finally, near the end of the day, I work on development tasks, which usually involves building new technologies or scripts for our Security Operations Center to use. Every day is a bit different and always challenging and the role has been a great fit for me. See Jobs

What are some of the benefits of working here? Is there anything that surprised you? Not sure where to start! The benefits are seemingly endless, with a handful of both internal and external schemes ranging from decent private healthcare to product discounts. One of the best things about Discover that I found the most surprising is the flexibility to adjust your working arrangements to suit your day-to-day life - the organization realizes that a happy workforce means a more productive workforce. How does Discover allow you to be true to yourself? Discover values and culture is the one thing that pulled me in. I really like the way discover behaviors are demonstrated. For any situation or dead blocks in meeting rooms I have seen simply adhering to the Discover behaviors helps to reach the goals. See Jobs
